American Legion Dewey Lowman Post 109

POST HAPPENINGS

Nov. 21st....3rd Thursday Spaghetti Night. It’s hard to beat an $8 spaghetti dinner prepared fresh that day by our terrific volunteers.

Nov. 22nd... Friday Night Dinner will be a $14 Thanksgiving Feast prepared by Dominic and his gang.
Dinner will be followed by John and Donna’s karaoke in the lounge... always fun. We hope to see (hear) you there.

Nov. 23rd... A crowd favorite, TheDodson Creek Band, returns Saturday evening. A great show every time!
And don’t forget to get your Queen Of Diamonds ticket(s). If she graces us with an appearance someone will win more than $23,026. Christmas shopping anyone?

Nov. 25th... BINGO! Shout it out and win the $325 progressive jackpot with 29 or fewer numbers and you can buy the largest turkey in Maryland for your Thanksgiving dinner. A little birdie (not a Raven) tells me we’ll have chicken noodle soup to help warm us up for the games.

Due to the outbreak of Ravens fever we’ve decided to not only keep the canteen open for Monday Night Football (Ravens at Rams) but to also turn it into a party by extending Happy Hour through the whole day. Just like Sunday football afternoons we’ll be hoping for some of the excellent pot-luck dishes brought by our foodball fans...but just in case, pizza will also be Happy Hour priced.

Nov. 30th... Scout Troop 109 is once again taking over our kitchen and hosting a delicious Saturday morning Breakfast With Santa for $12/adult and $7/child. A great chance for the kids to tell him what they’d REALLY like for Christmas! Breakfast will be served from 7:30 ‘til ??

Dec. 1st... Santa will be zooming right back on Sunday to help distribute gifts and joy at the Post Children’s Christmas party which begins at 1pm. Sign up at the canteen and bring the little ones for some crafts, pizza or hot dogs, chips and drinks with some great deserts. Free for kids 10yrs and younger. $4 for the moms and dads.

More Santa... I’d like to remind everyone that the boxes to collect TOYS FOR TOTS are still available for your donation of a new/unwrapped toy to be delivered by the USMC just before Christmas. Imagine yourself for a moment wearing a red suit with white trim and the next time you’re out shopping maybe you’ll find something you’d like to give to a child that may not be able to enjoy the holidays like most of us.

A reminder that Post 109 will be closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day. But, there’s always a “but”, there will be a Post Members Christmas Party on Christmas Eve before the Post closes at 6:30. Bring a dish, bring a smile, let’s all get prepped for Santa’s arrival.

NEW YEARS EVE PARTY!!! - Music by Blue Line, pot-luck dishes, and complimentary hats, noise makers, and a midnight toast. Party starts at 8pm, see you there.

Finally, I want to shout out a Thank You to the American Legion Auxiliary for the wonderful Vietnam Veterans’ Luncheon they hosted last Sunday. Good food, plenty of drinks, great speaker, and more importantly a very meaningful and memorable event. And how sharp were those Young Marine Honor Guards?
